Hi all.
I've sent my app to apple 2 times. Both time rejected because:

Quote:

We found that your app does not comply with the Guidelines for Using Apple's Trademarks and Copyrights <http://www.apple.com/legal/trademark/guidelinesfor3rdparties.html>, as required by the App Store Review Guidelines.

Specifically, your app includes OS X in the app name in an inappropriate manner. For your convenience, we've provided the relevant section/s of the Guidelines for Using Apple's Trademarks and Copyrights.

Product Names Guidelines

You may use Apple, iPhone, or any other Apple word mark (but not the Apple Logo or other Apple-owned graphic symbol/logo) in a referential phrase on packaging or promotional/advertising materials to describe that the third party product is compatible with the referenced Apple product or technology, provided they comply with the following requirements.

a. The Apple word mark is not part of the product name.
b. The Apple word mark is used in a referential phrase such as "runs on," "for use with," "for," or "compatible with."
c. The Apple word mark appears less prominent than the product name.
d. The product is in fact compatible with, or otherwise works with, the referenced Apple product.
e. The reference to Apple does not create a sense of endorsement, sponsorship, or false association with Apple or Apple products or services.
f. The use does not show Apple or its products in a false or derogatory light.

In other words, whether appearing on the application itself and/or in marketing materials, the word iPhone may be used as a descriptor, but not as part of the product name.

For example, the following are acceptable:
GreatApp - with tagline "for iPhone"
GreatApp - with tagline "iPhone edition"
GreatApp - with tagline "iPhone version"
GreatApp - with tagline "iPhone 4 for Verizon Wireless"

NOW.
First time app name: OS X Lion etc..
Second time app name: Mac OS X Lion etc..

Should i delete that "OS X" in the name? My app refers to Lion, but i can't call it Mac Lion, it sounds weird. Should i call it Apple OS X Lion, or should i just call it Lion? What if they want the copyright on it? Also, i've made some homemade logo "Mac OS X Lion" to place into my default.png image and other. Should i remove them too?
I need help for this, i'm goin' mad.

It seems exceedingly clear why your app was rejected.

Can't you change it to XXXXXX for OS X Lion? E.g. If it's a reference guide, call it 'Reference Guide for OS X Lion".

Ok, i'll try that, but should i change the logos i made with photoshop? There's Mac OS X Lion word, will they reject my app AGAIN for containing "OS X word?"

My guess is that they will. Maybe try adding the 'for' word there too, they seem OK with that.

you should remove the logo that says Mac OS X Lion in your default as well.
keypoint is you cannot start your app name with Mac OS X Lion GreatApp.

GreatApp for Mac OS X Lion should be ok.

Do check thoroughly for other section of your apps. I've been rejected twice last time because I put World Cup word as the app name. I changed to WC. resubmitted, just to be rejected again because there is a World Cup word in the About view. lol
