Look what we have here. Another day, another spec bump, and a new launch. Sony?s planning to launch the Xperia SL, based off the Xperia S, but with the specs that the latter should have had from first. But anyway, GSMArena posted about the device in detail, even getting the official press images before they?re made official. Err, okay, I?ll just proceed with the specs now.
- Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with Sony?s custom UI on top
- 4.3? TFT LCD display, HD resolution (1280?720 pixels) ~342 PPI
- 1.7 GHz dual core Qualcomm MSM8260 processor, Adreno 220 GPU
- 12.1 MP main camera, 1080p recording at 30 FPS, LED flash; front facing 1.3 MP camera
- 1 GB RAM, 32 GB internal memory, not expandable
- Wi-Fi b/g/n, Direct, Hotspot, DLNA, GPS, Bluetooth 2.1
Sony didn?t specify the battery capacity, but it?d be safe to assume that it comes with the same 1750 mAh battery ? the Xperia SL and S are exactly the same, save for the bumped up processor. Which makes me go ?What the hell??, but I?ll keep that to myself.
Interestingly, Sony?s Xperia S will be getting vanilla Android from Google as an experiment, and I?m more than happy for all the Xperia S owners out there, for they have a really good reason to smile.
