CHESTER, Pennsylvania (AP) -Nathan Delfouneso scored in the 43rd minute to lead Aston Villa past the Philadelphia Union 1-0 in a friendly Wednesday.

The Union, who have won three straight Major League Soccer matches for the first time in club history, did little to attack Aston Villa, which has won the English title and FA Cup seven times each.

Philadelphia used most of its starters in the first half yet had trouble generating scoring chances. It was the first loss in five international friendlies for the Union at PPL Park.
