University Christian romps past Tallahassee FAMU High in 2A playoffs

Star of the game: University Christian quarterback Tim Betros ran for two touchdowns and threw for another as the host Christians (10-1) defeated the visiting Baby Rattlers
(4-7). Betros? rushing scores gained 13 and 30 yards, and he threw a
33-yard TD pas to Jeremiah Hamlin.

Turning point: A 16-6 game in the first quarter was blown open when University Christian?s Stone Lakey recovered a muffed punt near midfield. Betros ran the ball in from 13 yards out a few plays later and the Christians took a commanding 45-6 lead into halftime.

On defense: Christians defensive back Jake Stoshak intercepted his seventh pass of the season, and fellow defensive back Hamlin also had one earlier in the game. ... The University Christian defense held FAMU to 92 yards, 35 rushing yards and three first-half first downs.

Fast facts: University Christian will host North Florida Christian (7-3) next Friday. ... FAMU quarterback Mike Wallace completed his first two passes of the game to Carlton McWhite for 58 yards and the only score of the game for the Baby Rattlers. ? FAMU has only four seniors on its roster.
