COLUMBUS, Mont. (AP) ? A Billings man has pleaded guilty to a string of burglaries in Rapelje and Reed Point in an agreement that calls for a 20-year prison sentence.
The Stillwater County News reports (http://bit.ly/RZNKMh) 43-year-old John Wilson Chambers pleaded guilty on Oct. 5 to eight counts of felony burglary and one felony count of criminal mischief by common scheme. Sentencing is set for January.
Chambers was arrested in May outside a Reed Point church. He pleaded guilty to break-ins at churches, bars, a school and a post office. About $900 was taken in the break-ins that caused more than $3,000 in damages.
State records indicate Wilson has burglary convictions dating back to 1994 in Lewis and Clark, Chouteau, Yellowstone and Liberty counties. He was on probation at the time of his arrest.
