Do it yourself Home improvement gift basket ideas?

I want to make my mom a home improvement / do it yourself gift basket for her birthday. I?m going to include a gift card to Menards, but I don?t know what else I should put in it! She loves painting and decorating and is very creative.

Any ideas?

Also, I don?t want to use a regular basket for the base?Any suggestions of something that would be better?

I don?t normally make baskets. For Christmas this year though, I made flower pens, painted the pots, bought some rocks, put them and the pens inside it?.It looks like a pot or vase of flowers, but is actually pens. I bought a clay pot at Lowes, which was only a dollar or two. Then bought some fake flowers and cut them apart. You also buy this green tape which you can normally find in with the flowers or in that general area at Walmart. Its a dark green and thin, not real sticky. Once you have everything though, you take a cut flower and hold it against the pens. The pens don?t have to be fancy, the simple cheap ones work perfectly for it. Anyways, you hold the flower against the pen and wrap the green tape around both the pen and flower. Make sure the tape covers most of the pen, but it doesn?t have to cover it all. Once you have the flower pens made, you can put them in whatever pot or vase you want. Hope you find the perfect gift for your mother.
