UFC is set to ring in the new year in style on December 29th when heavyweight champion Junior Dos Santos faces Cain Velasquez in a highly anticipated rematch at MGM Grand Garden Arena. Dos Santos and Velasquez met nearly a year ago at UFC on Fox 1 in what was a highly hyped heavyweight fight. However, fans were not treated to the lengthy battle they thought they were going to see as Dos Santos knocked out then champion Velasquez in just 64 seconds.

Since their first fight, Junior Dos Santos has successfully defended his heavyweight title with a TKO of Frank Mir while Cain Velasquez earned his chance at a rematch by soundly defeating Antonio Silva via TKO. With Dos Santos and Velasquez clearly on top of their games, UFC fans should get to see the epic heavyweight battle that they had hoped for last year. Dos Santos vs Velasquez 2 is not the only notable fight on the UFC card for December 29th. Odds have not been released for those fights yet, but they should each be highly competitive battles.

The undercard for UFC 155 is being widely regarded as one of the best in recent memory. In addition to light heavyweight and middleweight fights listed above, fellow middleweight fighters Yushin Okami and Alan Belcher will square off as will featherweights Erik Koch and Ricardo Lamas. The winner of the Koch and Lamas fight should have the inside track to face Jose Aldo for the featherweight title. Also, bantamweights Brad Pickett and Eddie Wineland will do battle as well. With such a stacked card for the entire UFC 155 event, it does not get any better for UFC fans.
